Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th January, 1946 on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up alongside 12 other kids. Her vivid imagination allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. The songs she wrote were composed before she could read or write. Once she had her first guitar at age of 8, she began performing on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. That same year she made her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Although she was in school, she had established a name for herself on the local scene. Her goal was to to perform at a much larger scale. After graduating from high school in 1964 she moved immediately to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart for the first time on Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for an actress to sing for the show he had syndicated to television. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. Then, in 1974, she left Wagoner's Show because the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton recorded "I will Always Be Loving You" to Wagoner shortly after they separated. The song was ranked No. For the first time, in 1974.
