Jessica Chastain

JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain (born March 24 1977) is an American actor and producer. She is best known for her part in films that have feminist themes. She has been the recipient of numerous awards, including an Academy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 most influential individuals in the world in 2012. Chastain began to develop an interest in acting at an early age and made her professional stage debut in 1998 when she played Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending the Juilliard School, she was signed to a talent holding deal with the producer of television John Wells. She was a recurring guest on several television series, and took on roles in several stage productions. Chastain's film debut was in Jolene (2008) when she was 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough through six film projects, which included The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). In her roles as an aspiring socialite as well as a CIA analyst, she received Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science fiction films Interstellar (2014), The Martian (2015) and It Chapter Two (2018) were commercially more successful. Chastain's strong-willed performances in the dramas A Most Valuable Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), Molly's Game (2017) and Scenes from a Marriage (2021) were further praised. She then played Tammy Faye Bakker in the biopic The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021) which won her the Academy Award for Best Actress, and Tammy Wynette in the miniseries George & Tammy (2022). Chastain created Freckle Films to promote diversity in film production. She is also an investor in Angel City FC. She has a strong voice on gender equality, mental illness and racial equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is her husband.
